Hallmark U30B Help  Reply with quote

I have a Hallmark U30B. One of the wires that was soldered to the tab on the truck has come loose. It does not want to be resoldered. Tried with and without flux and cannot get it to take. Any help would be appreciated.

Ira,

One of my key rules to soldering is to insure that the metal that I want solder to stick to must be cleaned to a shiny state. So clean the tab and wire with a file, wire brush, eraser, or whatever, before applying heat, solder and flux.

After cleaning the parts, you could tin them with solder, and then just melt them together.
